Open wallets for verified customers and lend to people with no bank credit history

Mobile money providers and fintechs use RDCPASS to check each new user against the national register while they sign up. With the customer’s consent, you can also get a credit score built from alternative data, and you can verify merchants before they start accepting payments.

  • Wallet opening against a certified identity
  • Credit scores the customer consents to
  • Merchant checks and fraud reporting

The challenges

Customers give up if sign-up drags on

Each extra onboarding step costs you sign-ups. Every account still has to have a verified owner.

Thin credit files make lending risky

Many applicants have little or no banking history, so a traditional credit check tells you almost nothing about them.

Fraudsters go where onboarding is quick

Fake accounts and mule wallets appear alongside SIM-swap takeovers and bogus merchants on platforms that open accounts fast.

How RDCPASS helps

01

Wallet onboarding

Each new user is checked against their certified identity and you receive basic KYC in seconds. The wallet can be opened as soon as the check comes back.

02

Microcredit and buy-now-pay-later

The applicant approves the request in the RDCPASS app. You then receive a score based on their mobile money, telecom, banking and utility data.

03

Merchant onboarding

Verify a merchant by RCCM, ID NAT or NIF and see its officers and beneficial owners before it accepts any payment.

04

Transaction-fraud reporting

When your fraud team detects a SIM-swap takeover, identity usurpation or other fraud, they report it to the national fraud desk and track the case from there.

Regulation & compliance

  • Supports the customer identification requirements set by the Banque Centrale du Congo (BCC) for mobile money and e-money providers.
  • A credit score is produced only after the customer gives explicit consent in the RDCPASS app.
  • Each check is logged with its stated purpose, which gives auditors a full trail.
  • An application only receives the data scopes it has been approved for.
